1990–1997 First generation facelift

7 modifications · For 1990, Ford updated the Aerostar with a facelift that refreshed the exterior and continued the original minivan’s basic architecture. This phase also marked the introduction of all-wheel drive on the Aerostar in the U.S. market. The facelifted Aerostar remained on sale through the end of production in 1997.

1986–1989 First generation

8 modifications · The original Ford Aerostar debuted for 1986 as Ford’s compact minivan, positioned below the full-size van lineup and engineered with a rear-wheel-drive layout. It was sold in the United States from launch and established the Aerostar nameplate as a family and passenger-cargo van. This initial phase ran through the 1989 model year before the facelifted version arrived for 1990.
