1983–1989 First generation (M-body) second facelift

1 modification · A second styling revision arrived for 1983, giving the Dodge Diplomat a more formal front-end appearance while continuing on the same M-body platform. This phase represented the later U.S.-market Diplomat sedan before the model’s final years. It remained in production through 1989, when Diplomat production ended.

1980–1982 First generation (M-body) facelift

3 modifications · For 1980, the Dodge Diplomat received a facelift that refreshed its front and rear styling while retaining the same M-body architecture. The update kept the car in the U.S. market and carried the Diplomat through the early 1980s with the same basic body shell. This phase ended when the next styling update arrived for 1983.

1977–1979 First generation (M-body)

4 modifications · The Dodge Diplomat launched for 1977 as a rear-wheel-drive midsize sedan on Chrysler’s M-body platform. It was positioned as a more upscale sibling to other Chrysler corporate intermediates and was sold in the United States from the start. The model continued in this original form until the 1980 facelift.
