The Sonic RS was introduced in the United States for the 2013 model year as the sportier hatchback derivative of the Sonic lineup. It used the same T300 foundation as the standard Sonic but added RS-specific appearance and performance-oriented trim. U.S. sales continued through the 2016 model year.
