I01 facelift
The original BMW i3 debuted as a carbon-fiber-bodied electric city car with rear-wheel drive and a tall, upright hatchback shape. In the U.S. it was offered as both a battery-electric model and a range-extender version, beginning with the 2014 model year. This first phase established the i3’s lightweight EV-focused packaging and distinctive interior design.
