2012–2016 R172 (R172)

4 modifications · The third-generation SLK-Class R172 debuted with a sharper design, improved efficiency, and continued use of the retractable-hardtop roadster layout. It launched in the U.S. for 2012 and was sold there through 2016 before the model was renamed SLC-Class.

2008–2011 R171 (R171) facelift

4 modifications · The R171 facelift brought revised front and rear styling and updated features to the SLK-Class while retaining the same chassis and folding hardtop layout. This refreshed version remained on sale in the U.S. through the end of the R171 generation.

2005–2007 R171 (R171)

3 modifications · The second-generation SLK-Class R171 grew in size and adopted a more angular design, while continuing the retractable-hardtop formula. In the U.S., it arrived for 2005 and expanded the lineup with SLK280, SLK350, and AMG variants.

2001–2004 R170 (R170) facelift

7 modifications · The R170 facelift updated the SLK-Class with revised styling and refreshed equipment while keeping the same basic roadster architecture. This phase continued the first-generation SLK's U.S. presence through the end of the R170 run.

1998–2000 R170 (R170)

3 modifications · The original Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class R170 introduced the compact two-seat retractable-hardtop roadster concept and launched the nameplate in the U.S. market. It was sold with four- and six-cylinder engines, including AMG variants, and established the SLK as Mercedes-Benz's entry roadster.
