The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 became the V12 flagship of the W222-based Maybach lineup after the facelifted S-Class update. It was sold in the United States as the top sedan in the range and continued the modern Mercedes-Maybach formula of extended wheelbase luxury and rear-seat emphasis. This phase ended when the W222 Maybach generation was replaced by the next S-Class-based Maybach.
