The original GLA-Class X156 debuted as Mercedes-Benz’s entry-level crossover, closely related to the A-Class and aimed at premium compact SUV buyers. It launched in the U.S. for the 2015 model year with GLA 250 and AMG GLA 45 variants. This first-generation body remained on sale in the U.S. through the 2020 model year before being replaced by the second generation.
