Mercedes-Benz GL-Class
X164
The first-generation GL-Class debuted for 2007 as Mercedes-Benz's largest SUV, offering three-row seating and a luxury-focused alternative to traditional full-size SUVs. In the U.S., it was sold primarily as the GL450 4MATIC and GL320 CDI 4MATIC, with the GL550 4MATIC joining later in the cycle. This generation established the GL nameplate before the 2013 redesign.
