2019–2023 C257 (C257)

3 modifications · The third-generation CLS-Class switched to the C257 body code and arrived in the U.S. for the 2019 model year. Mercedes-Benz simplified the lineup around CLS450 and AMG CLS53 variants, reflecting the model’s later-market positioning. U.S. sales continued through the 2023 model year.

2015–2018 C218 (C218) facelift

5 modifications · Mercedes-Benz gave the C218 CLS-Class a facelift for 2015, with updated styling and revised model offerings in the U.S. market. The refreshed range included CLS400 and CLS550 variants, along with AMG CLS63 derivatives. This facelifted phase ran through the end of the second generation in 2018.

2012–2014 C218 (C218)

6 modifications · The second-generation CLS-Class moved to the C218 body code and debuted for the 2012 model year in the U.S. It continued the original CLS formula with a more modern shape and a broader U.S. lineup that included CLS550 and AMG CLS63 variants. This generation was replaced by the facelifted version for 2015.

2009–2011 C219 (C219) facelift

2 modifications · Mercedes-Benz updated the first-generation CLS-Class for the 2009 model year with revised exterior details and refreshed equipment. In the U.S., this facelifted C219 continued through the end of the generation and remained on sale until 2011. It kept the same overall body code while marking the model’s mid-cycle update.

2006–2011 C219 (C219)

5 modifications · The original CLS-Class introduced Mercedes-Benz’s four-door coupe concept on the E-Class platform. It reached the U.S. market for the 2006 model year as the CLS500 and later added AMG variants, including the CLS55 AMG and CLS63 AMG. Production of this first generation ended before the next redesign arrived.
