The first-generation CLA-Class C117 debuted as Mercedes-Benz's entry-level four-door coupe, bringing the CLA nameplate to the U.S. for the 2014 model year. In America it was sold primarily as the CLA250 and later as the AMG CLA45, with 4MATIC all-wheel drive available on selected trims. This generation established the CLA's low-slung fastback shape and compact luxury positioning.
