2003–2014 C140 (C140) facelift

4 modifications · The facelifted C140 CL-Class introduced updated styling and revised equipment for the 2003 model year while continuing the same flagship coupe architecture. In the U.S., this phase covered the later CL500, CL55 AMG, CL600, and CL65 AMG variants through the end of C140 production in 2006. It marked the final evolution of the original CL-Class before Mercedes moved to the all-new C216.

1998–2010 C140 (C140)

14 modifications · The first modern CL-Class generation debuted in 1998 as the Mercedes-Benz CL500 and CL600, using the C140 chassis as Mercedes' flagship luxury coupe. For the 2000 model year, the nameplate changed from Coupe/S-Class coupe usage to CL-Class in the U.S. market, while the same underlying generation continued. This generation received a facelift for 2003 and remained on sale in the U.S. through 2006.
