The 380SL was the 3.8-liter V8 version of Mercedes-Benz’s R107 SL, sold in the U.S. for the 1984 and 1985 model years. It sat below the larger-displacement SL variants and used the long-running R107 chassis shared with the SLC coupé family. U.S. sales ended after 1985 when Mercedes-Benz moved the SL line to later engine updates.
