1985–1985 W126 (W126)
1 modification · The 380SE was Mercedes-Benz’s 3.8-liter V8 S-Class sedan in the W126 range and was sold in the United States for the 1985 model year. It represented the entry V8 sedan in the lineup before Mercedes-Benz revised the engine strategy for later W126 models. The 380SE nameplate was short-lived in the U.S. market.

1984–1985 R107 (R107)
1 modification · The 380SL was the 3.8-liter V8 version of Mercedes-Benz’s R107 SL, sold in the U.S. for the 1984 and 1985 model years. It sat below the larger-displacement SL variants and used the long-running R107 chassis shared with the SLC coupé family. U.S. sales ended after 1985 when Mercedes-Benz moved the SL line to later engine updates.
