1990–1991 W124 (W124) facelift

1 modification · The W124 sedan received a facelift for 1990, but the 260E was not continued in the U.S. market after the pre-facelift cars. This facelift phase is included for the model family because the underlying W124 generation continued with revised styling and equipment.

1987–1989 W124 (W124)

2 modifications · The Mercedes-Benz 260E was the six-cylinder W124 sedan offered in the U.S. as part of the early E-Class lineup. It used the 2.6-liter inline-six and sat below the larger 300E in the range. U.S. sales ran through the 1989 model year before the 1990 facelifted W124 lineup arrived without the 260E.

1985–1985 W126 (W126)

2 modifications · The Mercedes-Benz 260 SE and 260 SEL were W126 S-Class variants powered by a 2.6-liter inline-six in markets outside the United States. They were part of the early W126 range and were positioned as entry-level S-Class models in many export markets. These versions were not officially sold new in the U.S. market.
