2008–2012 Fifth generation

5 modifications · Ford revived the Taurus name for 2008 on a larger full-size sedan built for the U.S. market. This fifth-generation Taurus was sold as a sedan and later received a major styling update for 2013. The generation remained in production through the 2019 model year.

2004–2019 Fourth generation facelift

16 modifications · Ford updated the fourth-generation Taurus for 2004 with revised front and rear styling and other detail changes. This facelifted version remained a U.S. market sedan through the end of Taurus sedan production after 2007. It was the final Taurus sold in the United States before the nameplate’s brief hiatus.

1996–2003 Third generation

3 modifications · The third-generation Taurus arrived for 1996 with a more oval design and a major mechanical and styling update. Ford continued to offer it as a sedan and wagon in the U.S. market. This generation ended after the 1999 model year.

1986–1995 First generation

10 modifications · The original Ford Taurus debuted for 1986 as a front-wheel-drive midsize car that replaced the LTD and LTD Crown Victoria in Ford’s passenger-car lineup. It was offered as a sedan and wagon and helped define Ford’s aerodynamic design direction in the late 1980s. This first generation remained on sale in the United States through the 1991 model year.
