2015–2018 Third generation (C346) facelift

14 modifications · The third-generation Focus received a major facelift for the 2015 model year, bringing the front end in line with Ford’s then-current global design language. In the U.S., this refreshed phase continued through the end of Focus sedan and hatchback production in 2018. Performance variants such as the ST and RS were also part of the U.S. lineup during this period.

2011–2014 Third generation (C346)

19 modifications · The third-generation Focus debuted globally on the C346 platform for the 2011 model year and reached the U.S. for 2012. In America it was sold as a sedan and five-door hatchback, with additional electrified and performance derivatives appearing during the lifecycle. This generation represented Ford’s global compact-car consolidation around a single architecture.

2008–2011 Second generation (C307) facelift

20 modifications · For the U.S. market, the second-generation Focus received a notable facelift for the 2008 model year with revised front and rear styling and updated interior details. This refreshed phase is the version most associated with the late U.S. second-generation Focus. It remained on sale in the United States through 2011.

2004–2007 Second generation (C307)

18 modifications · The second-generation Focus moved to the C1-based C307 architecture and launched in Europe for the 2004 model year. In the United States, the second-generation Focus arrived for 2008 after a substantial delay and was offered primarily as a sedan and coupe, with the hatchback and wagon not continuing in the same way as earlier U.S. models. This generation marked a major global redesign with a different platform and body structure.

2001–2004 First generation (C170) facelift

14 modifications · The first-generation Focus received a mid-cycle update in Europe and other markets for the early 2000s, with revised styling and equipment. U.S. Focus models continued through 2004, but the facelifted European phase was not the same timing as the original U.S. launch cycle. This row captures the distinct refreshed phase where applicable in the global lifecycle.

1998–2004 First generation (C170)

27 modifications · The original Ford Focus debuted globally for the 1998 model year on the C170 platform and replaced the Escort in many markets. It was sold in the United States beginning with the 2000 model year in sedan, hatchback, and wagon body styles. This generation established the Focus nameplate as Ford’s compact-car entry worldwide.
