Ford Escort
Type 30
The Mk3 Escort introduced Ford’s front-wheel-drive Escort family in Europe with a transverse-engine layout and a hatchback-led range. It was offered in multiple body styles, including three- and five-door hatchbacks and an estate, and it established the modern Escort nameplate architecture used through the 1980s. This generation was not sold in the United States as the Escort nameplate there followed a different model line.
