1985–1988 fourth generation (E80)

3 modifications · The 1985–1988 Chevrolet Nova was a rebadged Toyota Corolla/ Sprinter-based compact sold in Japan under the Chevrolet badge. It used Toyota's E80 platform and was not a U.S.-market Nova. This model line is separate from the earlier American Nova and ended in 1988.

1975–1979 third generation (X-body)

18 modifications · Chevrolet launched the third-generation Nova for 1975 as a downsized compact built on GM's X-body platform. It continued through 1979 as the final U.S.-market Nova, with the nameplate ending after that model year. This generation marked the end of the original American Nova line.

1968–1974 second generation (X-body)

3 modifications · The second-generation Nova arrived for 1968 with a major redesign on GM's X-body architecture. It remained Chevrolet's compact car through 1974 and is the best-known early Nova generation. This long-running version included several model-year updates but retained the same basic generation identity.

6 modifications · For 1966, Chevrolet updated the original Nova with revised styling while keeping the same compact X-body architecture. The refreshed cars continued the Nova's role as Chevrolet's compact offering through 1967. This phase is distinct from the 1962–1965 original styling.

21 modifications · The first Chevrolet Nova was introduced for 1962 as Chevrolet's compact model line, replacing the Chevy II nameplate in the lineup. It used the X-body platform and was offered in several body styles during its run. This generation established the Nova as a mainstream compact in the U.S. market.
