2003–2005 Second generation (J-body) facelift

2 modifications · A facelifted Cavalier arrived for 2003 with revised front and rear styling and a simplified U.S. lineup. By this phase, the convertible had been dropped, and the model remained on sale through 2005.

1995–2002 Second generation (J-body)

9 modifications · The Cavalier was redesigned for 1995 with a new body and a more rounded appearance, marking the model’s second major U.S. generation. It continued as a coupe, sedan, and convertible, while the wagon body style was dropped from the lineup.

1990–1994 First generation (J-body) facelift

8 modifications · For 1990, the Cavalier received a significant facelift that updated its exterior styling while continuing on the same J-body architecture. The refreshed model remained on sale in the U.S. through 1994 and continued to be offered in multiple body styles.

1984–1989 First generation (J-body)

16 modifications · The first Chevrolet Cavalier arrived for 1984 as GM’s J-body compact, replacing the Monza in Chevrolet’s small-car lineup. It was sold in the U.S. as a coupe, sedan, wagon, and convertible, and it established the Cavalier as one of Chevrolet’s core front-wheel-drive compacts of the 1980s.
