I12 facelift

The original BMW i8 coupe debuted for the 2014 model year as a plug-in hybrid sports car with a carbon-fiber passenger cell and aluminum chassis structure. It used a turbocharged three-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor and was sold in the United States from launch. This first phase ended before the 2018 update.
