2021–2024 G80 (G80)
3 modifications · The G80 M3 Sedan introduced the latest generation of BMW’s high-performance four-door M3, with a wider body, modern chassis electronics, and turbocharged inline-six power. It is sold in the United States and remains the current M3 Sedan generation. Based on the latest verified context, it is still in production.

2015–2018 F80 (F80)
4 modifications · The F80 M3 Sedan returned the model to a turbocharged inline-six and was developed as a standalone M3 sedan rather than a sedan derivative of the M4. It was sold in the United States and became the direct successor to the E9x M3 Sedan. This generation ended before the G80 replacement arrived.

2010–2013 E90 (E90) facelift
1 modification · The facelifted E90 M3 Sedan carried the E9x family through its later production years with updated styling and continued V8 performance. BMW’s Life Cycle Impulse refreshed the sedan without changing its core mechanical layout. This phase ended when the E9x M3 line was discontinued.

2000–2006 E46 (E46)

1986–1991 E30 (E30)
4 modifications · The original BMW M3 was introduced on the E30 3 Series platform as a homologation special focused on touring-car racing. Although the M3 name is strongly associated with the coupe, the E30 family also included a four-door sedan variant in some markets. It was not officially sold new in the United States.
