2020–2026 W166 (W166) facelift
5 modifications · Mercedes-Benz updated the first-generation GLE for 2020 with revised exterior styling, refreshed interior technology, and expanded driver-assistance features. The facelift kept the W166 architecture but marked the final U.S. model year for that generation before the full redesign. It was sold in the United States.

2016–2023 W166 (W166)
2 modifications · The first GLE generation debuted in the U.S. for 2016 as the renamed successor to the M-Class. It used the W166 platform and was sold as a midsize luxury SUV with multiple four-wheel-drive and AMG variants. This original phase ran until the 2020 facelift arrived.
