The first-generation CLA debuted as Mercedes-Benz’s entry-level four-door coupe on the MFA platform, with the C117 sedan-like coupe and the X117 shooting brake variant. It was sold in the United States beginning with the 2014 model year as the CLA 250 and later expanded to AMG variants. The generation ended before the second-generation CLA arrived for 2020.
