The W126 500SEL was the long-wheelbase V8 sedan version of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship S-Class. It was sold in the United States during the 1984 through 1991 model years, where it served as the top-end 500-badged sedan before the later 500SEL 5.0L and 500SEL 5.6L variants appeared in the catalog context.
