The Mercedes-Benz 400SEL was the long-wheelbase V8 S-Class sold in the U.S. for the 1992 model year. It shared the first-generation W140 S-Class body and mechanical package, but added the extended rear-seat room of the SEL body style. Like the 400SE, it was a brief U.S. designation tied to the early W140 lineup.
