The 350SEL was the long-wheelbase version of the W116 S-Class with the 3.5-liter V8 engine. It shared the same basic mechanical package as the 350SE but added rear-seat room and a longer wheelbase. This W116 350 variant was sold in the U.S. market during the model’s production run.
