2024–present Third generation

1 modification · The Ranger Raptor joined the U.S. Ranger lineup for the 2024 model year as Ford’s off-road performance version of the midsize pickup. It is sold alongside the standard Ranger and uses the same global Ranger family architecture. This variant is currently in production for the U.S. market.

2019–2023 Third generation

17 modifications · Ford reintroduced the Ranger to the U.S. market for the 2019 model year as a midsize pickup based on Ford’s global T6 architecture. The truck returned with a crew-cab-focused lineup and modern safety and connectivity features. This phase remained on sale through the 2023 model year before the 2024 update and Raptor expansion.

2001–2011 Second generation second facelift

40 modifications · Ford gave the Ranger another update for the 2001 model year, extending the second-generation truck’s life in the U.S. market. This phase ran through the end of U.S. Ranger production after the 2011 model year. It was the final Ranger sold new in the United States until the nameplate returned in 2019.

1998–2000 Second generation facelift

11 modifications · For 1998, Ford updated the Ranger with a facelift while retaining the same underlying second-generation body and structure. The refreshed truck continued in the U.S. market through the 2000 model year. This phase is distinct from the earlier 1993-1997 version and the later 2001 update.

1983–1997 First generation

26 modifications · The original Ford Ranger debuted in the United States for the 1983 model year as Ford’s compact pickup, replacing the smaller Courier in the lineup. It was sold in rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive forms and remained in production through the 1992 model year. This generation established the Ranger as Ford’s core compact truck before the 1993 redesign.
