2024–2024 Seventh generation (S650)

4 modifications · The seventh-generation Mustang launched for 2024 on the S650 platform with a new exterior and interior design while retaining the Mustang name and core coupe/convertible body styles. It is the current Mustang generation in the U.S. market. The 2024 launch phase is still in production.

2018–2023 Sixth generation (S550) facelift

15 modifications · For 2018, Ford gave the S550 Mustang a significant facelift with revised front and rear styling, updated technology, and powertrain changes. This updated sixth-generation version remained on sale in the U.S. through 2023. It continued to be offered as coupe and convertible.

2005–2017 Fifth generation (S197)

10 modifications · The fifth-generation Mustang arrived for 2005 on the S197 platform with retro-inspired styling that echoed classic Mustang cues. It was sold in the U.S. as a coupe and convertible and ran through the 2014 model year. This generation marked a major redesign from the SN-95 car.

1999–2014 Fourth generation (SN-95) facelift

14 modifications · For 1999, Ford updated the SN-95 Mustang with the New Edge design language, giving the car sharper surfacing and more aggressive styling. This facelift remained on sale in the U.S. through 2004 and continued the same basic fourth-generation hardware. Coupe and convertible body styles were still offered.

1984–1998 Third generation (Fox)

9 modifications · The third-generation Mustang launched on Ford's Fox platform for 1984 and replaced the earlier Mustang II-era architecture. It introduced a more modern, aerodynamic shape and remained in production through 1993, with coupe and convertible body styles offered in the U.S. market. This generation is commonly associated with the Fox-body Mustang name.
