2013–2019 First generation (D4) facelift
4 modifications · For 2013, Ford updated the Flex with revised exterior styling, a new grille and lighting treatment, and interior and equipment changes. This facelift kept the same underlying D4 architecture and continued the model's U.S. availability in FWD and AWD configurations. The refreshed version remained in production through the end of Flex sales in 2019.

2009–2012 First generation (D4)
2 modifications · The original Ford Flex debuted for the 2009 model year as a boxy, three-row crossover with seating for up to seven. It was built on Ford's D4 platform and was sold in the United States in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive forms. The launch design carried through the 2012 model year before the mid-cycle update arrived.
