1986–1988 Mk1 facelift
3 modifications · For 1986, Ford updated the EXP with a facelift while keeping the same basic two-seat coupe concept and Escort-derived underpinnings. The revised model continued in the U.S. market through the end of EXP production. This facelift phase remained on sale until 1988.

1984–1985 Mk1
2 modifications · The original Ford EXP debuted for the 1984 model year as a small two-seat coupe based on the Escort. It was positioned as an economical sporty car and was sold in the United States from launch. This first phase ran through the 1985 model year before a facelifted version arrived for 1986.
