2005–2011 Third generation (ND)

8 modifications · The third-generation Dodge Dakota Pickup arrived for the 2005 model year with a new body and updated truck architecture. It remained a U.S.-market midsize pickup through the end of Dakota production. The model was discontinued after the 2011 model year, ending the Dakota nameplate in the United States.

2000–2004 Second generation (AN) facelift

9 modifications · For 2000, Dodge updated the second-generation Dakota Pickup with a facelift while keeping the same AN body code. The refreshed truck continued in the U.S. market with revised styling and remained on sale through the 2004 model year. This facelift phase closed out the second generation before the all-new 2005 model.

1987–1999 First generation (AD)

11 modifications · The first-generation Dodge Dakota Pickup debuted for the 1987 model year as a midsize pickup positioned between compact and full-size trucks. It was offered in the U.S. with rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations and established the Dakota nameplate in Dodge’s truck lineup. This generation remained in production through the 1996 model year.
