The original Chevrolet Corsica launched for 1987 as a compact front-wheel-drive sedan on GM’s L-body platform. It was positioned as a mainstream Chevrolet sedan and shared its basic underpinnings with the Chevrolet Beretta coupe. This early phase was sold in the United States through the 1989 model year.
