2011–1996 fifth generation (GM Zeta)

2 modifications · The 2011 Caprice revived the name in the U.S. as the Caprice PPV, a police patrol vehicle based on the Australian Holden Caprice/WM platform. It was not a retail passenger car in the U.S., but it was officially sold there for law-enforcement use.

1991–1979 fourth generation (GM B-body)

9 modifications · The 1991 Caprice introduced a rounded, aerodynamic redesign on GM's B-body platform and replaced the long-running boxier 1977-era car. It was sold in the U.S. as a sedan and wagon, including police and fleet variants.

1980–1990 fourth generation (GM B-body) facelift

3 modifications · This facelift updated the 1977-generation Caprice with revised styling while retaining the same full-size GM B-body foundation. It continued the Caprice sedan and wagon range before the next major redesign.

1977–2017 third generation (GM Zeta)

7 modifications · The 1977 Caprice was the downsized full-size redesign that improved efficiency while keeping the Caprice as Chevrolet's flagship sedan and wagon line. It remained a major U.S. full-size nameplate through the 1980s.

1971–1976 second generation

3 modifications · For 1971, Caprice became a distinct Chevrolet full-size model line rather than just a trim package. This generation continued through the early 1970s with the large GM B-body architecture and traditional rear-wheel-drive layout.

1965–1970 first generation

12 modifications · Caprice debuted in 1965 as a luxury-oriented trim/package on Chevrolet's full-size line, centered on the Impala. It was positioned above the standard Impala and helped establish the Caprice name as Chevrolet's upscale full-size offering.
