2024–2026 G06 (G06) facelift
3 modifications · BMW refreshed the G06 X6 with a facelift that updated the exterior and trim lineup while keeping the same underlying generation. In the U.S., this revised phase includes the M60i xDrive designation and remains on sale. It is the current facelifted phase of the X6.

2020–2023 G06 (G06)
5 modifications · The current BMW X6 generation uses the G06 body code and launched in the U.S. for the 2020 model year. It brought a larger, more modern interpretation of the coupe-SUV concept and introduced new trim structure, including performance-oriented M variants. This generation is still sold new in the U.S.

2018–2019 F16 (F16) facelift
4 modifications · BMW gave the F16 X6 a mid-cycle facelift that updated the styling and kept the model in U.S. showrooms through 2019. This revised phase is separate from the original F16 launch version because the production years differ. It represents the final phase of the second generation.

2015–2018 F16 (F16)
4 modifications · The second-generation BMW X6 moved to the F16 body code and reached the U.S. for the 2015 model year. It continued the coupe-SUV formula with updated styling, technology, and powertrain choices. U.S. sales for this generation ran through 2019 before the G06 replacement arrived.

2008–2012 E71 (E71)
6 modifications · The BMW X6 debuted as the E71 generation and established the model’s coupe-like SUV format. In the U.S., it launched for the 2008 model year with xDrive50i and xDrive35i variants, followed by the X6 M performance model. This generation ended before the second-generation F16 replaced it.
