2022–2024 U11 (U11)

2 modifications · The third-generation BMW X1, coded U11, debuted globally for 2022 and reached the U.S. market for the 2023 model year. It is larger than the F48 and introduced a new U.S. lineup centered on the xDrive28i, with the performance-oriented M35i added for 2024.

2015–2022 F48 (F48)

2 modifications · The second-generation BMW X1 switched to the F48 platform in 2015 and adopted a front-wheel-drive-based architecture, marking a major mechanical change from the original model. This generation was sold in many markets worldwide but was not offered in the United States.

2009–2015 E84 (E84)

4 modifications · The original BMW X1 debuted in 2009 as the brand’s entry-level crossover, using the E84 platform and a rear-wheel-drive-based layout shared with other BMW compact models. It was sold in the United States for the 2013 through 2015 model years as the sDrive28i, xDrive28i, and xDrive35i.
